"Plastics department"

My elderly parent a war veteran and also diabetic has been waiting over 2 days to have surgery on their finger after they cut the top of their finger off at home. Each day they have sat at the hospital from 7am to 5pm with my other parent fasting while waiting for surgery. At the time of writing this, it will soon be day 3 of waiting with no answers. Note my parent is also sent home with no pain meds. I feel our hospital systems are not good enough. Surely there is a timeframe that a wound needs to be repaired in.
