After 9 months of brewing our son was ready to be induced. The midwives communicated the game plan and reassured us through the process, which I appreciated greatly as I’ve found this whole breeding thing most unsettling.
They kept me updated through the birthing process which went fairly smooth until the last bit when over a litre of blood erupted from ‘mount fookashema’. I quietly pooped my pants and observed the doctor and two midwives calmly and efficiently work to stop the bleeding.
It did stop and after a couple of nights in hospital we were home and doing well.
It was a terrifying experience made tolerable by the excellent and professional care we received at Margaret River Hospital. Thanks to all involved.
