I was admitted to the maternity ward at the Bunbury Regional Hospital to be induced to have my baby. I was part of the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) and had two lovely midwives Fiona and Lindsay (was a bit sad when discharged from the program to say goodbye). Lindsay was with me the whole time during my labour. She was extremely supportive and even my partner said she was fantastic helping me through my breathing and contractions. I had the on call doctor. The doctor did two internal examinations on me and geez they really really hurt. The second time during the internal I had to be on gas. It felt like the doctor stuck their whole fist up my vagina and just didn't care about being gentle. It was awful both times. I do not recall it hurting this bad when I had an internal with my first baby. Once my baby was born, instead of that immediate time of skin on skin, the doctor just wanted to check my baby over straight away, which is good but I felt the doctor had been at the hospital all day and just wanted to go home.
My overall experience in the ward was lovely. Thank you to the midwives .
