I was taken to the ED recently by ambulance and was seen by two nurses. No doctor, at any time, came to see me. I had hurt my knee and was unable to put any weight on it. After asking me questions and querying why I can't take certain pain medication (to which they both looked at each other) one of the nurses made me sit on the side of the bed with my legs hanging down, as this was going to fix my problem. She came back in (don't know how long after) and asked if it was better. I told her no. She sent me off to x-ray and left me sitting in the same position for roughly 10 minutes. She came back in and asked once again if the pain was gone and I said no. I asked what showed up in my x-ray and I believe she mumbled something and then made me stand up and walk with her. I am sure she could tell that I was in pain and not able to walk properly but said she would give me a Zimmer frame and send me home. I honestly felt like a second-class citizen. It was certainly the last place I wanted to be. I felt like she didn't believe a word I said and queried everything I said. Why do nurses, or doctors for that matter, claim they know what you are feeling? I wasn't there for drugs, but for them to see why my knee was in so much pain. I have had a shocking pain and still can't put any weight on my knee. I have heard so many bad stories about Fiona Stanley Hospital but wasn't sure what I heard. I have now experienced it. Worse experience of my life.
