Before joining the Road Maps program I had never tried rehab despite being a drug user for 40 years or more. Its been hard turning up each week and committing to the group, but I have done it.
One of my biggest challenges is learning to solve problems and to function in the world 'straight'. For so long my only choice was to use and temporarily forget. I am now able to recognise that my problems are still there when I come down.
The Road Maps team encourage me and tell me to keep going, what we do each session encourages me to want to come back for the next session.
As at today I have not used any substance for a week, I understand there is no quick fix and am taking one day at a time to reach my goal of getting my youngest kids back.
The Road Maps are going to come back early in 2019 and I'm going to do the program again and I encourage others to come along with me.
