(as the patient),

Recently I was rushed to your hospital after being found unconscious following swallowing my vomit in my sleep. 

Dr John & his staff were magnificent I was told. I was in a coma for 2 to 3 days, I was told & not expected to live. My wife, son & daughter were at my side through this ordeal. They cannot get over the wonderful care I received. At one stage it seemed unlikely I would survive. But thanks to you all, I am still in the land of the living, even though I find things hard.

I hope you receive this letter of appreciation.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your words of appreciation for the care you received whilst a patient in the Emergency Department (ED) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH). I am very sorry to hear of your critical illness and can only imagine the distress and fear your family must have experienced during this time. It was very heartening for me to read of the wonderful care and support that you and your family received and I will ensure that your message of thanks is passed on to all the staff involved in your care.
