"Lactation services Box Hill"

About: Box Hill Hospital / Maternity Service

(as the patient),

I was well supported by the Lactation Clinic at Box Hill, but disappointed to find out that they are unable to support women beyond 3 weeks after birth.   So many women experience challenges breastfeeding beyond 3 weeks and many may give up without professional support. I needed support with my first babies until 12 weeks and am thrilled that I breastfed them both for a year. I really think the hospital should reconsider this policy and extend the time that women are able to access lactation services after birth.

Dear Peppercorn

Thank you so much for taking the time to share feedback regarding your positive experience and also about lactation service availability beyond 3 weeks of birth.

I will forward your comment to the Women and Children Program Director to review and determine what may be possible.

I trust you and your baby are doing well at such a specail time.

Take care and kind regards

David
