My husband presented to Ed with a collapsed lung. He’s has DNR (do-not-resuscitate) on his record, as he is in the late stages of emphysema. After being treated in Ed, he was admitted to ICU for care. He was kept there overnight. Only sent home the next day, still in pain, but was given morphine 1 dose to get him home. He is very frail and was finding it hard to walk. Had a fall a few hours after coming home. Didn’t want to go back to hospital, so stayed home and suffered through it. Is this normal treatment?
