(as a relative),

After receiving a life-changing diagnosis recently in country WA, resulting in an urgent referral to Perth for an appointment, there was a need to lodge a Patient Assisted Travel Scheme (PATS) application.

Julie at the Carnarvon Health Campus was polite, professional, responsive, efficient and compassionate from first point of contact on the phone.

She explained what was needed simply and when lodging in person at the campus she acted promptly knowing the urgency and had everything sorted before we knew it. Just the kind of person you need in customer service in a stressful situation. An asset to the team.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your positive experience on Patient Opinion. I was sorry to read of your diagnosis and so pleased that Julie was able to provide you with support and assistance with your application for the Patient Assisted Travel Scheme (PATS), Julie certainly is an asset to our team. PATS is a great initiative that provides a subsidy towards the cost of travel and accommodation for eligible WA country residents travelling long distances to seek certain categories of specialist medical services.

The PATS team do a great job in coordinating the travel arrangements for our community who require specialist care and I have passed your compliment on to Julie and senior management. Julie was delighted to read your lovely comments.
