Earlier this year, after a six week stint in a major cancer Melbourne hospital, I transferred to the Acute Unit at the Beechworth Health Service. It was such a relief to be 'home' and to be somewhere where I didn't have to tell my story over and over again.
The first week of my return in many ways is a blur, but I have memories of staff pulling down blinds and shutting doors to enable me to sleep, and tending to my hideous radiation burns, which at times I thought were never going to leave me.Thank you to all those who played a part, large or small, in my recovery. It is much appreciated.
