Recently late one evening our daughter was admitted to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital ICU after suffering a stroke.
On arrival at the hospital we were directed to the ICU reception area and were met by the on duty doctor. The doctor was compassionate and respectful while he informed us of our daughter's diagnosis and treatment plan.
One of the nurses was kind enough to get my wife, son-in-law & I a coffee and some sandwiches and it was a gesture we really appreciated.
We left the hospital at approx 4 am & returned at about 9 am. Our daughter was being treated in professional caring manner by a group of professional doctors & nursing staff. We were so impressed with their interaction with us during a difficult situation and all staff were caring, informative and considerate.
Sadly our daughter didn't regain consciousness from her stroke and sadly passed away a couple of days later. During our stay in the hospital we were able to use a suite for sleeping and showering, this enabled us to be close to our daughter a during the start of our grieving process.
We will never be able to praise all of the hospital staff involved in our daughter's stay at the hospital enough. Each and everyone of them are truly professional and are an asset to the health system.
My wife & I would like to pass on our thanks to all the staff in ICU during this difficult time.
