About: Beverley Health Service / Emergency Department Pingelly Health Centre

(as a friend),

A friend had an infection in her face. Presented at a rural hospital ED (Pingelly). Despite a swollen face, the nurse told her a surgeon was busy and so she could not be seen. No antibiotics could be prescribed until lancing was done. No doctor was called. Three hours later I took her to a rural hospital in the opposite direction (Beverley). Within 5 minutes she was assessed. Within 40 minutes the doctor saw her and antibiotics were prescribed and given. Why is quality of care not consistent?

Dear ink6306

Thank you for sharing you story with us via Patient Opinion.

I was concerned to read of the issues around accessing care at the Pingelly Health Centre.

We would like to investigate the issues you have raised and wish to speak with you directly about your experience.

If you could contact Ryan Hanlon, Nursing Coordinator on (08) 9621 0723 or email Ryan.Hanlon@health.wa.gov.au or Carolynne Ryan, Patient Opinion Coordinator on (08) 9621 0708 or email Carolynne.ryan@health.wa.gov.au so we can discuss this further.

Our aim is to improve your experience and to ensure the care we provide is consistent not only for yourself but also that of other people attending our health services.

Once again, I am sorry your experience was not a positive one and hope your friend is recovering well.

Best wishes
