Was out walking and attacked by a dog, then rushed to Kerang District Health. I was quickly attended to, my doctor contacted and all necessary attention given. Was admitted and was allowed home approximately 48 hours later after being stitched from dog bite on my right leg, above my ankle which was very deep. 

Staff were just wonderful, so gentle, caring, positive and reassuring to me. All necessary actions were acted upon. Cannot praise the wonderful care given to me and communication carried out to my family. Hospital so spotless and high hygiene carried out at all times. I am so happy and proud to live in a small country town, knowing we have such an efficient, caring hospital, known as Kerang District Hospital.

What a dreadful ordeal to be bitten by a dog, and on the ankle.

Thank you for sharing your traumatic story, and I am so pleased that you commented on the "caring" by our staff. As this is one of our hospital's values it is of great importance to the Management team and the Board that patients feel cared for within our health service. I am also very proud of the team who cared for you, that you found them gentle. Traumatic wounds can be very painful, and this is a huge compliment that you pay our staff in using this word. Please accept my thanks for your very complimentary words.

I will pass on your story to the Acute ward staff and the Doctors involved in your care, and hope you have made a full recovery.
