This is just feedback for the doctors:
After a very thorough examination by the intern and senior doctor for a very sore left eye I was advised to rest it. After pressure tests and other eye examinations the doctors could see no scratches or signs of damage and the senior doctor advised I should rest it and leave it alone for 24 hours. No drugs were administered so it could be left alone. I was happy to comply with this advice. I was advised that if it was not better in 24 hours I should return. That evening the pain was unbearable, moving from a 5 to a 9 in the pain scale. My daughter drove me to the Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne where they ascertained there were two scratches on the cornea and major infection resulting from the same. Antibiotic drops and pain relief were issues with instructions that it would not feel any better for at least 4 days. I am only up to day 2 so I cannot advise on that.
"I visited the emergency department recently with a very sore eye."
