My child was recently taken to the Emergency Department at CGH (Central Gippsland Health) by ambulance with a suspected spinal injury. On arrival my child was taken immediately to a cubicle and was assessed by the Surgical Registrar who was waiting for us to arrive.
The nursing staff, Jill, Sue & Jessica were amazing. As was the hospital co-ordinator Leanne. They provided reassurance and support to my child and myself at a very stressful time.
Within 1.5 hours we were transferred down to RCH (Royal Children's Hospital) by ambulance for further assessment by a speciality team. I cannot thank the nursing staff and medical team enough for the swift assessment and quick referral to a tertiary centre where we were able to be assessed further.
