Basically I feel there has been a fall in care and service since my mother was admitted to the nursing home 18 months ago. In my opinion residents are now treated as numbers more than people living in what is their home. Birthdays are no longer recognised. New staff and residents are not introduced, often turning up for meals with a table full of strangers. Lack of staff particularly at night. My mother is very alert mentally, but with more dementia care and alzheimer's residents there is little for them to do. No programs for them, this also leaves the other residents with few activities to keep them busy and many just stay in their rooms causing depression. Management seems to mean staying in an office with a closed door not moving around the home and mixing with residents.
