I received a text for a consultation for my first born baby for Kogarah Eye Clinic. The text said to arrive with my baby between 1pm - 3pm and the consultation would be for 90 minutes. I have waited one and a half hours. I spoke with the receptionist and she told me it could be 3 hours before we are seen. Would you like it if this was your experience with your first born baby?
I realise this is a public system, but we all pay taxes. We all have jobs and can't afford to be waiting around for hours like this. I have a work appointment this afternoon, that I know won't be able to make. In my opinion this is a broken system.
To ask people to come in between 1pm - 3pm and wait until there is a doctor who can see you; I believe is poor customer service - even if it is a public system. There is obviously insufficient staff.
When I spoke with the receptionist, she said she has worked here for many years and it has never changed. She also didn't seem to care if I put in a complaint.
I want to create a system for change. I look forward to reading my story and seeing if anything does change.
