(as the patient),

I presented to Busselton emergency department recently one morning following a skateboarding injury and saw Shirley the nurse practitioner. She was very caring, professional and her knowledge base was exceptionally high. Her follow up phone call was the icing on the cake to represent the high quality care given by the Busselton emergency department. Staff like Shirley who represent our health system are such a great asset to our community.

Dear Skink

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about your ED visit. We are very lucky to have an experienced Nurse Practitioner at Busselton ED.

Nurse Practitioners bring an added role and value into the ED working alongside the medical and nursing team.

In the South West we have a number of EDs with Nurse Practitioners working in them with more to follow.

I’ll be sure to pass on your feedback and let Shirley know how you felt. It’s a privilege to work with such a committed team.
