I arrived home from holiday with a badly infected big cyst on my back. My doctor immediately sent me to Peel Health Campus Emergency Dept to have it removed.
The Emergency Dept was very busy and it seemed understaffed, but the triage manager managed to organise the surgeon to operate that afternoon (Friday). Dr Sam did a good job, hopefully removing all the cyst. He sent me to the Peel After Care Clinic (PACC) to have my dressing changed the next day (Saturday) on a daily basis.
The timeframe the PACC are allotted to treat wounds is up, so tomorrow I go to the Silver Chain nurses.
Over the three weeks I've been going to PACC, the staff there have always been helpful and friendly no matter how busy or stressed they are, patient care is obviously the highest priority.
Sally and Kim the two PACC nurses are especially good, always cheerful and friendly, and their expertise in wound care is beyond doubt. The huge hole left in my back is rapidly closing without any complications.
