"My trip to Merredin ED"

About: Merredin Health Service / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I ate something I didn’t know I was allergic to, so had to go to Merredin Emergency Department to get treated.

I was rushed through and treated by Dr & nurse practitioner Robbie. Given adrenaline x 2 and some other drug through a face mask. Took a long time for symptoms to go down, so stayed overnight to be monitored. The staff there were awesome and very quick responding to me. They talked me through what was happening and were always checking up on me. They were very professional and took their time with me even though there were a lot of other things going on that night. Special thanks to Robbie for his care & thoroughness and quick referral process so I can get further tests done.

Having an allergic reaction can be a terrifying experience, especially when you do not know what triggered it. I was pleased to read that our staff especially Robbie the nurse practitioner and the Doctor were not only professional and compassionate but ensured you knew what was going on with your treatment throughout your journey.

The team at Merredin work very hard to deliver this level of care and are always appreciative of positive feedback.

It will give me great pleasure in passing on thanks to the staff involved and I hope that your are well on the road to recovery.

Your story will also be passed onto the staff across the region, to demonstrate the importance of compassion and reassurance and the positive impact it has on our patients and their families experiences.
