"Fast Track waiting periods and efficiency."

About: Box Hill Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I got referred to emergency by my dentist for a simple antibiotic intravenous. After waiting for 3 hours like everybody else in the queue, I got skipped and someone else got helped before me. Then the doctors and nurses thought it was appropriate to chat away about dogs and needles. Really? Go talk to the Vet. You have patients waiting who also has a life and need to get home to their families. It seems there is absolutely no urgency to help people nor multi-task. You would think while someone goes for an x-ray, they would start to attend to the next patient.

Dear Grobbies

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience when attending the Emergency Department at Box Hill Hospital.

I’m sorry your experience was not a positive one and waited for a long time and there was ‘queue jumping’.

We receive a lot of feedback from people who access our services and the importance of communication and information is so important. Your feedback reinforces the importance of this and more.

I will share your comments with the managers of the Emergency Department so they can use your experience to reflect and learn.

I hope the condition that brought you to the Emergency Department has improved and you’re health is where it should be.

Thank you again and best wishes.

Kind regards

David
