Our child care provider referred my child to Allied Health in late 2018 following a series of incidents involving my child biting other children. After an initial wait of approximately 2 months, we met with the Occupational Therapist - Rachel - who talked us through sensory processing and gave us a lot of strategies around increasing deep pressure stimulation. Over a six month period we met with Rachel a number of times and she also visited the child care centre to work with my child's educators.
Overall we had an extremely positive experience with Rachel, she was extremely professional and knowledgeable yet also very friendly and made a real and genuine effort to build rapport with my child. Rachel was very receptive to our feedback about what was and wasn't working for our family and is continuing to support my child through our child care provider. We feel very grateful for the support we have received through this service.
