I came into the Emergency Department (ED) via ambulance recently suffering from a miscarriage or a possible ectopic pregnancy. Whilst in Emergency I was cared for by ED nurse Courtney as well as consultants and doctors who I can’t remember the names of, but they were so caring and sensitive with how I was feeling.
I stayed in ED for 12 hours whilst waiting for results and a bed upstairs to become available but I was placed in a private area with my husband which is what I needed. Dr J admitted me over night and I was moved up to the Colyer Ward. There I was met by nurses Rachel and Alannah (I think this was her name, I’m sorry) they cared for me up until their shift change. Whilst in there care they did everything in there power to comfort me for the loss of losing my baby. When I would be inconsolable, Rachel sat by my bed rubbing my back, if it wasn’t for her I’m not sure I would have gotten through the night. Your emotional comfort meant more to me then you could possibly know.
Armadale Hospital is lucky to have such caring and amazing nurses working for them. Please can you pass this on to the girls, I would like them to know how grateful I am for what they did while I was in their care.
