Recently, our teenage child had an accident at work and amputated 4 fingers on their left hand and 3 on their right hand. Our child was rushed by ambulance to the Emergency Department (ED) at Royal Perth Hospital. Our child had 26 hours of surgery by the amazing plastic surgery team and then went to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Our child was specially nursed on Ward 6H and was discharged after 2 weeks.
From the excellent ED staff to the incredibly amazing, outstanding, extraordinary, caring plastics surgery team of compassionate, incredibly competent and considerate registrars and consultants (and the theatre team) who worked on our child nonstop for 26 hours. To the compassionate and caring and amazingly skilled ICU staff and finally to the incredible team that is 6H, we extend our heartfelt thanks. The nursing, medical and Allied Health team (Social Workers, Physios, OT and Dieticians) on 6H are a huge asset to the hospital.
We just want to commend the hospital on the exceptionally dedicated and professional care by amazingly caring, compassionate, considerate and immensely competent staff (especially the plastic surgery team and nurses on 6H). The care we received all the way through our journey was incredible and outstanding despite aging facilities. The words that we write are not enough to reflect our gratitude for the amazing care that your hospital and it's outstanding staff gave our child - thank you all so much.
"Thank you so much to Royal Perth Hospital"
