A thousand thank-yous !

My spouse had an unfortunate accident whilst snowboarding last weekend and required surgery at Maroondah Hospital to repair their injured shoulder.

As their spouse, and also an employee of Eastern Health, being on the other side of my spouse's health care was very different when it is your loved one.

From the moment we presented to the Emergency Department (ED), through until the day of discharge, we were treated with nothing but absolute kindness, compassion and professionalism from the entire multi-disciplinary team involved in my spouse's care.

A few special thank yous to the following staff involved in my spouse's direct care:

Gabe (nurse) in ED

Deepak (doctor) in ED

June (clerical) in 2 South

Lisa (nurse) on 1 North  

Peter (physio) on 1 North

The entire Ortho team and Theatre staff involved in my partner's operation

Everyone really does an amazing job each and every day and work tirelessly and selflessly with the approach of patients first. 

Please pass on my thanks as I feel each and everyone involved in my partner's treatment deserves the recognition they truly deserve.

Dear leoxb47

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide comments regarding the experience you and your partner had following the snowboarding accident. As a member of the Eastern Health team we often take what we do, and how we do it for granted.

It's a clear reminder, as per your experience, that each and every thing we can do as health care professionals makes such an impact.

It will give me immense pleasure to share your comments with all the teams you've mentioned, but particularly Gabe, Deepak, June, Lisa and Peter. Living the values is so important for us all and its clear the respective teams did just that!

I trust your partner is well on the road to recovery and no doubt the future of snowboarding is a discussion to be had!!
