I was admitted to Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) in recent months regarding a transfer via the Royal Flying Doctor Service. After 4 days of waiting for a proposed MRI, I decided it would be better to go home and wait. I discharged myself when I could not get a positive time for my MRI.
I was subsequently called up 2 weeks later for the MRI (I live several hours away). I had the MRI and returned home expecting to hear the results within a couple of days. Three and a half weeks later after numerous phone calls to FSH and the Specialist's rooms, as well as requests from my GP, I was eventually rung by FSH to advise me that the results of the MRI were "insignificant".
This was after 3 weeks of stressful waiting for the result. This stress was not only to me but to my whole family. It is painfully obvious that there is a communication problem there. I have now received a request from FSH for a video interview this month. I have no intention of being at this appointment.
"Lack of communication"
