"Phenomenal support from the IBD nursing team"

About: Royal Perth Hospital / Stomach, Bowel and Liver Care (Gastroenterology and Hepatology)

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) quite out of the blue. It's  both a confronting and confusing diagnosis with lots of uncertainty.

Despite everybody's best efforts, treatment hasn't followed a smooth or predictable path.

I can't sing the praises of the IBD nurses loudly enough. They have more than 800 patients and they know my name. They've listened and responded -swiftly - to every question and concern. Nothing has been too much trouble.

They've made this a much less lonely road, and I will be forever grateful. Thank you, ladies.

Dear papaxz58

I’m sorry to hear that you have had a difficult time with your condition and that it has been causing you troublesome symptoms of late. However, I am glad to hear that we have been able to get support from our excellent IBD nurses and especially pleased with the personal care you have received.

Thank you for taking the time to recognise them here, they are a great team and we are very lucky to have them. I will ensure that your feedback is passed along to them.

Kind regards

Dr Lesley Bennett
