My child broke their wrist in school. I went to our GP and the doctor in GP suggested to get an X-Ray and also gave me a referral to Sunshine hospital (Western Health) Accident and Emergency Department.
I was searching for a car park nearby and also on the streets but it took me 30 minutes to find a spot. Finally entered into the Emergency Department and got a shock.
There were a lot of people waiting and the announcement display showed waiting period for adults as eight hours and for kids as two hours.
We waited four hours just to get the X-Ray and another three hours to consult a doctor. Finally the doctor said its not a fracture and just swelling.
My concern is we went in in the evening, and came out the next day. Is this the way the Emergency Department works? I am totally upset with the way Sunshine Hospital is treating emergency.
