"Visit to ED at Bunbury Hospital"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I spent the day in the Emergency Department (ED) at Bunbury Hospital on recently. Actually it was only 4 hours but it felt like all day! I was referred in by my GP with acute abdo pain.

Within that 4 hours I was triaged, followed up by a Triage Nurse because I had been waiting over an hour, then saw a Dr who did blood tests, ordered CXR and Abdo scan. Because I wasn't able to drink they put up a drip so I wouldn't get dehydrated.

I was then seen by a Dr from the Surgical Team and after seeing all my results they discharged me with analgesia and a follow-up referral to a Surgeon.

Everyone I dealt with was courteous and professional. It was a busy day in ED and despite this, I feel I got gold standard care. The care was outstanding and I felt very grateful that this standard of care is available when needed.  Thank you Team at Bunbury ED.
