"Great experience"

About: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I had an infected knee which was getting worse fast after a GP visit so I went to the Emergency Department (ED)  at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. Dr Richard the ED registrar was reassuring, funny, informative, prompt and very efficient.

I felt a bit guilty about coming in but they said I did the right thing. The X-Ray staff were helpful with their student on board and all the team kept me up-to-date with how long I was likely to wait without me asking. I work in the health industry too so I was especially pleased with the service and to see other patients around me being treated in a caring and respectful manner.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions about the evidence, for the IV antibiotics and for reassuring me. Many thanks to Richard  and the team!

Dear sagittariusex65,

Please accept my sincere apology that your lovely compliment regarding your ED experience was not acknowledged at the time.

It is always great to receive positive feedback from our patients and we always try to ensure that the team involved in the care receive the compliments so that they can see how much the work they do is appreciated.

At “Charlies” we pride ourselves on having caring and compassionate staff who are committed to providing excellent care.

Wishing you all the best.

Kind regards,

Amanda McKnight
