Last time I visited the Emergency Department (ED) at Box Hill was in the old hospital and I had some concerns as a result of my previous visit. Last visit left me with an impression of an overworked and somewhat disorganised place. However, the contrast could not have been greater. On this occasion ED was a busy place when I arrived, but it gave me the impression of a well run efficient place in a bright and clean environment.
Commencing with the staff in the triage area where I was informed of what potential treatment options I may require, to the treatment by the medical staff. The whole procedure was very efficient and competent.
Particularly, the nursing staff were helpful and knowledgeable which reflects well on their professionalism and the ED management.
