I took my child to the Emergency Department (ED) on a weekend night. Due to the nature of their injury, the triage nurse took my child in straight away. I ended up waiting for hours whilst my child was looked at and eventually admitted.
During this time the triage nurse - Nathan, was fantastic! It was chaotically busy (as weekend nights are) yet he kept me posted as to when I would be able to see my child as much as he could whilst dealing with all of the other people coming to ED.
I watched all of the nurses deal with those in pain and numerous people I felt were rude, drunk, abusive and drug affected, with such unbelievable professionalism and speed. One of the nurses apologised to me for having to wait to get back in to see my child as they was dealing with someone! The staff at RPH ED are incredible and I was in awe just watching them. Thank you for doing the job you do so well.
