The general staff and reception services at the Box Hill Hospital have been excellent.
However, I feel that the diagnostic skills and knowledge base of the specialists serving the hospital are very limited. I believe they do not have a holistic approach to treating patients. I have been a patient for several years for Ovarian Cyst surgery leading to other complications. I feel specialists would rather keep hand-balling patients to each other for diagnostic tests for several years, unable to identify correctly the cause of ailments or treat them appropriately.
I feel similar issues of the medical practice exist in clinics too. I believe mere Fellowship obtained 10-20 years ago does not reflect their current skills or abilities. Some of the specialists in the Outpatients clinic who attended to me are rude when the pathology results do not reflect their expectations. In my opinion, these specialists never care about the welfare of the patient or curing them!
