"How LLW helped me break down my walls"

About: Lives Lived Well - Logan House

(as the patient),

LLW for me was the best thing that ever happened for me. I had an abusive relationship with alcohol, anger and emotional control, the staff at Logan House guided me through all the steps I needed to take that I simply could not do on my own. I was counselled in a way that exposed why I abused substances, by whom, events, childhood memories etc, and gave me the confidence to do it for myself.

I now have a better outlook on life, better relationship with my partner and family, I have a better understanding of my childhood, and truly see the world and people in a different light. At first I thought of rehab as a nasty place full of nasty people, but I was so wrong. I would hope that everyone go to Logan House, as it is more than a place to control substance abuse, but more of a place of self healing and self love, breaking down walls, beating personal demons and being the best version of yourself. I was fortunately lucky enough to be accepted into Logan House, and it changed my life for the better, and I will always be grateful for the experience.

Hello Performancese55,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your story and recent experiences at Lives Lived Well's Logan House. It takes a lot of courage to acknowledge that I cannot make the changes I need to on my own. Finding the supportive structure that breaks the process down into steps you can take is such an important part of making changes in our lives. It is great you found this at Logan House and were able to work with staff there to make many changes in your life.

Your statement of where you are now is a great description of a change in your self concept rippling through your life - "I have a better outlook on life, better relationship with my partner and family, I have a better understanding of my childhood, and truly see the world and people in a different light".

I wish you all the best in your life ahead.

Warm regards

Gerard
