Until recently I had all my procedures carried out at another hospital, which will remain unnamed at this stage. I believe I was never advised by my health fund at the time of having my procedures, that I could check with the specialist to see who their preferred anaesthetist were and if they were on the health funds preferred list as well, which would have meant a saving of financial outlay not covered by the private fund between thousands of dollars which was quite a rude shock.
Anyway, with my most recent procedures my spouse went to Bentley Hospital, and questioned me about private, by this time I had already cancelled my private hospital cover and proceeded to Bentley Hospital. From memory, I have had two procedures and about to have my third.
I was served by 3 lovely qualified medical staff from pre-booking consult to completion of procedure, namely Eddie, Trish and Peta, were the names that came to mind and the very professional specialist and anaesthetist that performed the procedure, were very professional. Unlike my experience with another hospital where the specialist saw me before and the nurse saw me after the procedure.
Whilst at Bentley, both the specialist and the anaesthetist saw me prior and post the operation to discuss my operation, which I feel is really important as the specialist can address my personal questions after the procedure, as they were involved in the whole process and best positioned to refer to their notes and my condition. Which from my experience is a very important part of the whole process. Keep up the great work & high professional medical standards and I am so happy that they did not close down the Bentley Hospital as it performs a vital service to our local community.
