"Amazing Drug & Alcohol Counsellor"

About: Community Support Services (Bass Coast Health)

(as the patient),

I have two children who are addicted to ICE. I was not coping at all, felt like a failure as a parent and just wanted out of my life. I contacted Bass Coast Health and Sarah contacted me as a drug and alcohol counsellor.

She has been amazing, she organised monthly support groups with parents going through very similar issues/problems. Without this I don't think that I would still be here. 2019 was the year from hell for me.

I would like to thank Sarah from the bottom of my heart for the help and support she has been to me.

Dear Stressed Parent,

Oh my ... reading your post gave me goosebumps. ICE is such a wicked drug and what you felt is sadly very common in these circumstances. It is so great that you have come out the other side of a hugely difficult time.

I know that Sarah will take this in her stride but we agree that she is pretty awesome, as are all our Drug and Alcohol team members. They do a great service to our community and take great pride in being able to support people through these tricky times; Sarah will be really chuffed that you took the time to write this post and thank her.

I hope 2020 is a much better year for you and yours, and I hope you can continue to build your strength, and belief that you are not a bad person or a bad parent.

Take care!

Jan
