"Exceptional care"

About: Sale Hospital / Surgical Services/Ward

(as the patient),

Exceptional care.

In this age of instant criticism and negativity, I feel compelled to write about my positive experience at Sale hospital.

I recently attended the hospital in severe pain from cholecystitis. At all times I was treated with respect and concern for my wellbeing. All the doctors and nurses involved in Emergency, Surgical ward and Critical care were excellent, helping to manage my pain and keeping me fully informed of my status and plan and ultimate transfer for further care in a Melbourne hospital. I couldn’t have wished for anything further.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all support staff, administration, environmental and kitchen staff who I feel sometimes don’t get the recognition they deserve. I believe the hospital can’t run at such a high level without these background staff.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story which has been shared with staff from all the service areas that you mentioned.

It is our aim to deliver care and services that have the person at the centre of their care. This is a major focus for us and we are currently launching a major improvement program titled “person centred care”. This program will involve staff training and learning even more from patients and clients who need our services.
