This is about my story so far. A little while ago it was suggested to me that I should join the Acute oncology rehab exercise/physiotherapy as it would help me with the treatment.
I was feeling anxious, depressed, angry and full of woe is me, not sure that I wanted to join then I met April and she convinced me to give it a go and I started in the group. It was a struggle at the start with some pain and feeling very tired but with gentle encouragement and caring help by Germaine and April I persevered. As each week came around I started to look forward to my sessions with my 2 little guardian angles who were full of praise and motivation.
As the weeks went by I found myself getting stronger, more positive and willing to do whatever it takes to improve my situation. It was also a real eye-opener to see the other patients and to interact with them as they went on their journey. Today I feel 100% more physical, more relaxed, more capable and more positive about the future and have decided to join another exercise group. I also have purchased some second-hand exercise gear for home. A heartfelt thanks to April and Germaine (need some emojis).
