"Waiting room configuration"

About: PathWest Joondalup Collection Centre

(as the patient),

I attend Pathwest Joondalup quite frequently and make the following observations:

1.  Staff are very good and a pleasure to deal with.

2.  I feel the waiting room has too many low chairs and is not user-friendly to people who require a higher chair to get out of. For example, I suffer from severe arthritis pain in the hips and knees as well as bouts of wrist pain - the result is I often stand whilst waiting.

3.  As in 2 above, the waiting room has too many chairs (crowded) which I believe must be inconvenient to those in wheelchairs and those using walking frames.

My suggestion, basically, is to have fewer chairs and at least a couple of high chairs for those who find the low chairs difficult to get up from as well as space for wheelchair and walking frame patients.

Dear Sukebe,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback on our collection rooms in Joondalup. I am happy to hear that you had a positive interaction with our staff.

I am pleased to advise that we are progressing with plans to refurbish our Joondalup Collection Centre. This will include the installation of equal-access toilets. We will certainly take on board your suggestions regarding the waiting room chairs, and configuration when finalising the design and purchasing any new furniture.

Kind regards,

Tracy Dixon
