"Cancellation of visit"

About: House Call Doctor

(as a relative),

I rang in the early evening and a recorded message told me to ring back in a couple of hours time. I called back and then received an SMS with a link to the internet for 'Express Service'. Filled in link with the mobile number already printed on the form.

I was told nearly two hours after I booked, that the wrong mobile number was called and I believe because the recipient knew nothing about the call, the service was cancelled.

I re-listed with an administration operator with mobile number and asked if now it would take another three hours and they advised that it should be soon. About an hour later, we got a text message to say that the house call doctor was unable to service the area as the doctor had finished. I replied saying that I thought the service was from 6:00 pm-8:00 am, as stated on the website! I feel very upset. My spouse was in severe pain with suspected burst eardrum, hearing loss and pain.

Now I have to wait to the next day, or see a doctor in the area that isn't available for another four days, or go to Emergency Department at Hospital and clog up their system with an issue they classify as a non-emergency or drive back to the city where there is more choice.

I believe Panadol was not enough and my spouse needs a special otoscope to see if the eardrum has burst.
