My young child had an unfortunate... let's say, 'accident'... with a piece of Lego that inexplicably ended up their nose recently. I just want to say to the amazing Children's Ward nurses, the PCAs, the theatre nurses and anaesthetic techs and Steve the anaesthesiologist - thank you!
Each and every one of you made put my very nervous and embarrassed child (made quite scared by past surgeries), at complete ease with your kindness, your funny jokes, generous servings of icy poles and stories of nostril blockages of your own. So much so, they want to visit you again to give you all a high five!
Steve the anaesthetist - your Peppa Pig story had my child completely enthralled, and completely oblivious to what was happening around them while they went to 'sleep'. Thank you - your approach made what normally is a scary and stressful experience, a calm and positive one... well for me, just as much as my child!
I must also thank the ED doctors and the ENT who tried in vain twice to pull the little sucker out before resorting to surgery - thank you for trying everything you could!
Keep up your wonderful work Bunbury Hospital staff :-)
