"Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee"

About: Wonthaggi Hospital

(as the patient),

I keep bees and one of the girls was irritated with my work in the hive and she stung me through my bee suit.

After 15 minutes I started to have a problem with swallowing, I called for an ambulance. The 2 ambos who arrived jumped into action, stabilised me professionally with a few jabs of adrenaline and had me in the ambulance heading to Wonthaggi Hospital.

The nurse on duty did their stuff well in my opinion, constantly checking on me and observing. Dr Greg did his stuff well also, explaining what had occurred and the pharmacist gave me the epi-pen demo.

All in all, I feel I was well cared for from start to discharge. I don't recall all the names of the staff that I saw but please pass on my thanks.

Regards

Dear leopardmc63,

Have to start by saying - LOVED the title of your post!

It sounds like 'your girls' gave you some pretty strong feedback! You had a really close call but it sounds like the health system did what it should do!

Ringing 000 was an excellent call on your part - and them bringing you to the Emergency Department ensured you got the right care quickly.

I am sure the Epi-pen will give you some reassurance in the future. Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback - it's very much appreciated and Greg and the team will be really pleased.

All the best at keeping your girls less irritated in the future!!

Kind regards

Jan
