"Post Operative Recovery"

About: St John of God Subiaco Hospital

(as the patient),

I had vascular surgery at St John of God Subiaco. While in recovery, I was feeling nauseous and I needed my glasses to see (which I believe also contributed to nausea).

I asked a staff member about my glasses and I was told that they were in the patient belongings bag sitting at the head of the bed. The staff member had walked away before I could ask for the glasses or a sick bag.

Later, when I could see someone close by, I asked again for my glasses as they were going to move me to the ward soon. I was finally given them but again, they left before I could ask for a sick bag.

When I arrived in the ward, my parents arrived a few minutes later. I asked for a sick bag, in which there was none in the room. My mother had to go to the nurse's station to ask for some.
