In my opinion, the lobby is always a disgrace and when you do see people cleaning, they are doing a poor job.
I was trying to eat in the lobby recently and a cleaner was banging a broom against a dustpan for about an hour. Moving at a snails pace, banging this dustpan and brush as loud as they could against each other and weren't even picking all of it up.
I don’t know how some of these people get their jobs. Some cleaners I see are terrific though. I can see why they were hired, but these others... I think there should be more thought into who Princess Alexandra Hospital hires for lunch/cleaning/wards staff.
I feel unsterile when I’m out of my room and I feel some of the lunch/ward staff are rude, however, I feel they’re in a job where they shouldn’t be hired if they haven’t got a great personality. I feel then, it also puts me in a foul mood, when that is what you want to avoid if you’re a hospital patient with anxiety and depression or just a hospital patient in general.
