"having a baby"

About: Armadale Hospital / Maud Bellas Maternity Ward & Neonatal Nursery Armadale Hospital / Midwifery Group Practice (Horizons)

(as the patient),

This is was my second pregnancy through Armadale Hospital. During my first pregnancy, I did not have a great experience and saw a different midwife at every appointment back in 2017.

This pregnancy, I was a part of the midwifery group practice, where I saw the same midwife throughout my whole pregnancy and built up a great relationship with. She was also present for the birth, which made me feel much less stress and worried. The doctors, midwives, and nurses who cared for me during my stay were amazing. They all cared and always offered to help. Even once being discharged from hospital, I had my midwife come and do multiple home visits. This experience was so much better than my first. I highly recommend for anyone to try and get into this program as not everyone is a part of it.

Dear leopardbc87,

Thank you so much for writing to us and how wonderful it is to read about your recent birthing experience at Armadale Hospital.

Having a baby is such a special time for a woman and her family. I am very proud of our Midwifery Group Practice program that allows our dedicated midwives to provide continuity of care throughout pregnancy and following birth.

The team will be so delighted to hear they were able to alleviate your stress throughout your second birth and make this experience much more pleasant. I’ve already taken great pride in sharing your story with them!

Thank you again for sharing your story with us, and all the best to you and your family.

Kind regards,

Di Barr
