"Wonderful Nurse"

About: Esperance Population Health

(as the patient),

I'd be delighted to share my experience as it was a very positive one.

I never look forward to having a pap smear test. Who does?!

But today our wonderful Nurse, Nicki, was very delightful.

She was very thorough to explain about the upgraded pap smear test system. We also chatted about other health issues, in an informative, encouraging manner in my opinion, i.e. breast examination and pelvic floor muscles.

She has taken the dread away from future pap smear tests and I congratulate her on achieving this.

Well done, Nicki.

Dear nashiracd48,

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback about your recent women’s health service experience.

I am glad you found Nicki so helpful and informative, particularly, as you explained, attending for a pap smear can be very stressful for many women.

Like all of our Community Health Nurses, Nicki is focused on ensuring that any care provided is explained and understood by the recipient and that they play an active role in planning their care and have every opportunity to ask questions or voice any concerns they may have. This ensures that our clients feel more empowered and in control of the care they seek and receive, which is particularly important when working with sensitive and important issues, such as those you describe.

Thank you again for your feedback and I am delighted to hear that the experience has encouraged you to attend our services again in the future.

I will ensure that Nicki is aware of your kind words.

Kind regards

Alicia Michalanney
