"Considered patient care"

About: Hedland Health Campus

(as the patient),

I presented to the ED at Hedland Health Campus with an abscess that I had been put on antibiotics for, 3 days prior. Whilst they were having some effect, I believe they were not treating the abscess and side effects enough.

Dr Chris explained everything to me in such a lovely way, in my opinion, and addressed all of my anxieties. He also organised for me to come in again the next day so he could follow up himself. Further to this, he handed over to another Dr on this next day as his run of shifts were coming to an end.

This meant that I got to meet the Dr following up my care the next day and it put me at complete ease. In what I bleieve was a very busy ED, I felt Dr Chris went above and beyond and I am very grateful for his considered and thorough care.

Dear GratefulHedland,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Hedland Health Campus. I am glad to hear that you are on the mend and pleased with the quality of care you received in the Emergency Department.

We strive to provide the highest level of care and interaction with patients. This includes our clinicians making patients aware of the treatment they are undergoing and having the ability to ask questions. It is heartening to hear that Dr Chris not only took the time to address your concerns but also involved you in the handover of care to the next clinician.

It will be my pleasure to share your feedback with Dr Chris and the rest of the ED team at Hedland Health Campus.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience and I wish you the best of health.

Kind regards,

Cherelle Fitzclarence

Acting Regional Medical Director

WA Country Health Service Pilbara
