I was admitted to Bunbury Regional Hospital recently, and from the initial check in to my discharge, I could not fault any aspect of my treatment.
I was admitted for breast surgery and was treated with compassion and dignity the whole time I was in, from the receptionist, the orderly who took me down to surgery, the nurses and doctors; were all absolutely marvellous. At a time when I was stressed and apprehensive, I believe the fantastic treatment I received went a long way towards alleviating my fears.
From my initial mammogram and biopsy, through to the insertion of the magseed (which is a fantastic invention, in my opinion) and operation and then the follow-up visits and meetings with the oncologist, I am in awe of the great health service here in Bunbury.
On another note, the placement of Magseed is such a quick and easy procedure and is much more comfortable, in my opinion, for anybody going through this type of treatment. I believe it is less obtrusive than the older style of Hook wire, which needs to be done on the day of operation, while Magseed can be placed days before which lessens the stress on the operation day.
