"Staff care and reassurance"

About: Fremantle Hospital and Health Service / D4 Rehabilitation Centre (Fremantle Hospital and Health Service (FHHS)) SMHS Rehabilitation In The Home (RITH)

(as the patient),

I want to share good feedback. I was worried about leaving the hospital and the Rehab Centre. I wasn’t sure about treatment and care and worried I wasn’t able to recover. I was reassured by the staff that I did the right thing and had a good experience. I receive text messages on phone from the service and we were able to organise a time for home rehab (RITH).

I was properly cared for and the recovery at home was, I feel, better than being in hospital.

Dear soilcn87,

Thank you for providing the RITH service with such nice feedback. It can be a scary process leaving a hospital when you have ongoing rehabilitation needs and it is good that the staff in the hospital were able to alleviate your concerns and that you received rehabilitation in the home.

It is great to note that you felt that your recovery at home was enhanced with RITH. Home-based rehabilitation has the advantage of tailoring your rehabilitation goals to your own home environment which can make it more meaningful and empowering for you as the patient. We sometimes see patients progressing more rapidly in their own home for this reason. All the best to you and thanks again for taking the time to provide feedback.

Kind regards,

Kate Gatti
