"Box Hill Intensive Care Unit"

About: Box Hill Hospital / Cardiology

(as a service user),

My spouse was admitted to the ICU at Box Hill Hospital recently, after a cardiac arrest with no pulse for 22 minutes. I was extremely impressed with the care that was shown to both my spouse and myself. The Intensivists (Dr Jo and Diarmuid), a team of Cardiologists and nurses (Sue and others) were professional and caring. They gave me the confidence we were at the right place. Now almost 3 weeks later my spouse is home, their heart and body are recovering, I believe their MRI and Ultra Sounds show no damage to their brain, liver and kidneys. A fantastic result due to the expertise of the ICU and Cardiology Department. I have my spouse back and I am am incredibly grateful to the team.

Dear redej69

Thank you so very much for taking the time to share your experience. This must have been your worst nightmare but I am so pleased the Intensive care and Cardiology teams were able to support and care for you and your spouse during this time.

It will give me great pleasure to share these comments with them and their managers so they again see the impact their care, support and efforts have had. I am incredibly proud of the staff we have at Eastern Health and your comments and experience reinforce why I feel this way.

I trust you are both looking after yourselves and staying well.

Take care redej69 and all the very best.

David
